Tea

Tea is part of the social fabric of Ireland and Tea consumption crosses generations, social classes, gender and nationality. No surprise then that Ireland has one of the highest per capita consumption levels of tea in the world with the average consumer drinking 4 cups per day.

The symbol group tea market is valued at €14.4m1 and is growing by 4.1% in value. This strong value growth has come from consumers trading up into more expensive blends such as Gold Blend, Decaffeinated Tea and into Speciality teas. Lyons tea is the number 1 brand in symbols groups with 47.8% share. Lyons Tea and Barry's Tea combined hold market share of over 90%.
