Cool ways to make the most of the Summer season and bring hot sales in store.

  • Bring summer into your store and maximise the seasonal sales:

    • Check the weather forecasts daily and ensure you know your delivery schedules for products like ice cream so that you aren’t caught out.
    • Identify some major sporting events to support with cross-linked promotions or dual sitings, eg:
      • strawberries and cream for Wimbledon tennis (20 June – 3 July)
      • beer and snacks for the British Grand Prix (10 July)
    • Offer inspiration for BBQs and picnics by ensuring you offer variety and choice, as well as putting products together to make it quick and easy for the customer, for example create a BBQ display.
    • Place a heavier emphasis on summer foods:
      • salads
      • cold meats
      • buns / baguettes / seeded rolls
      • side dishes / dips
      • prepacked or individual cheeses
      • sauces and dressings
    • Have a good selection of chilled soft drinks and alcohol available for refreshment and entertaining.
    • If you are near an office...
      • consider a meal deal for people wanting to buy a sandwich and a paper to enjoy outside
      • do a leaflet drop to local businesses to publicise your deals
      • offer a multi-buys on lollies to prompt impulse purchases for the office
